Access to the labor market

With a residence permit under Section 24 of the Residence Act (AufenthG), refugees from Ukraine generally also receive a work permit and access to support services from the Employment Agency. It is recommended to seek counseling at the Employment Agency and register as a job seeker. There, you can receive guidance on specific support options.
Since June 1, 2022, Ukrainians who have fled to Germany can receive basic income support through the Job Center.  Employment support and health care are also handled through the Job Centers. In this case, you should schedule a consultation appointment.

Recognition

As part of employment support, it is advisable to have your qualifications from your home country recognized. The relevant authorities are responsible for this. The IQ Network Saxony-Anhalt provides advice and support in this matter. An appointment should be made to discuss the recognition of qualifications. Under the right conditions, costs for the recognition process may be covered.
Further information can be found on the IQ Network Saxony-Anhalt website.

Job-Turbo

The Job-Turbo program of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) and the Federal Employment Agency helps refugees find their way in the German labor market more quickly, get placed in a job, and transition smoothly into working life. This is achieved through various support and activation programs, such as placement in internships and trial work placements, as well as individually tailored vocational language courses designed to help refugees acquire the language skills needed in their respective fields of work. To participate, interested individuals must have completed an integration course or be currently enrolled in one. More information about Job-Turbo is available on the Federal Employment Agency’s website.
