Volunteering brings together a wide variety of people and enriches society in many ways. Whether in sports clubs, supporting disadvantaged people, or in the cultural sector, nothing would be possible without the commitment of volunteers!  

The numerous initiatives, associations, and communities also bring many people together in Saxony-Anhalt. 800,000 people—about one in three residents—volunteer here. This puts Saxony-Anhalt at the top of the list among the eastern German states. 

Incidentally, vocational training also benefits from volunteering. In many areas, volunteer examiners ensure the quality of training.
