Attracting Skilled Workers from Abroad: On December 6, 2023, the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt, “Make it in Germany,” and the Halle-Dessau Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) hosted an online information session on this topic. The session outlined the path for a skilled worker from abroad to relocate to Saxony-Anhalt. During the 90-minute session, the nearly 100 participants received practical, key information on the new Skilled Worker Immigration Act and the support structures available in Saxony-Anhalt. The speakers also answered questions regarding the recognition of qualifications, the costs and duration of various stages in the recruitment process, as well as specific age and salary requirements for certain residence permits.
