How can cooperation in skilled worker immigration procedures be improved? Where can procedures be streamlined and administrative burdens reduced?
The expert exchange “Focus on Cooperation: Shaping ServicePLUS for Foreign Skilled Workers and Companies in Saxony-Anhalt” addressed these questions on March 27, 2025. Representatives from immigration authorities, the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt (WCST), the IQ Network Saxony-Anhalt (IQ), the IHK Nord, and other stakeholders from administration and consulting came together to reflect on existing collaborations and develop new joint approaches.
A central theme of the event was the need for a coordinated service culture between advisory bodies and implementing authorities. The participants agreed: Through close cooperation and transparent structures, decision-making processes regarding skilled worker immigration can be accelerated and the integration of foreign skilled workers in Saxony-Anhalt can be sustainably improved.
Interwoven with presentations and panel discussions were several workshop formats in which representatives from the various participating institutions could get to know one another and engage in dialogue.
Particular emphasis was placed on practical examples that demonstrated how regional cooperation is already optimizing welcome processes today. In this context, further cooperation efforts were agreed upon to adapt proven models in other regions. The focus here is on:
The day impressively demonstrated that Saxony-Anhalt already has a strong infrastructure in place to successfully integrate foreign skilled workers into the labor market and advise companies. The agreements reached lay the foundation for even closer and more efficient cooperation—for a strong and future-oriented Saxony-Anhalt as a destination for immigration.
We thank all participants for their valuable contributions and look forward to the next steps in jointly shaping ServicePLUS!
