Seeking a new director for the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt

RKW Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH is seeking to fill the new position of Director of the WelcomeCenter Sachsen-Anhalt within the state initiative "Fachkraft im Fokus" as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

Management of the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt

Managing the tasks of the WelcomeCenter team based on management decisions and the established concept:

  • Internal: Leading the growing WelcomeCenter team
  • externally: Representing the WelcomeCenter at external events
  • Planning, preparing, and conducting team meetings and their follow-up, ensuring compliance with established guidelines
  • Independent coordination with network partners and integration of the agreements reached into the WelcomeCenter’s work processes
  • Developing and taking responsibility for one’s own contributions to public relations
  • Independently preparing presentations for events and company presentations
  • Ensuring compliance with reporting obligations to project management and the client, as well as the quality of implementation
  • Scheduling, monitoring, and reviewing milestones, including necessary process adjustments in line with current conditions
  • Regional and national cooperation to gain and disseminate insights

Ensuring that project objectives are met in the required quality and quantity

  • Ongoing monitoring of the WelcomeCenter’s quantitative and qualitative indicators
  • Ensuring the necessary documentation and timely reporting to the client
  • Onboarding and, if necessary, organizing training for staff

Ensuring and initiating the necessary internal communication within the WelcomeCenter in collaboration with U-Consulting and FK-Consulting

Networking at the management level

  • Establishing and maintaining contacts that support the project
  • Reaching out to and involving additional partners in the project’s activities
  • Maintaining contact with institutions and regional influencers in the context of securing a skilled workforce

Implementing cooperation at the federal level in the context of coordination tasks and activities

Regional and supraregional cooperation (as part of management responsibilities)

Participation in the network of nationwide WelcomeCenters (including Make it in Germany)

  • Preparing materials as required (e.g., for the development of generally applicable recommendations for action, etc.)
  • Steering group meetings (2–3 times a year) to coordinate and plan further activities
  • Greater use of existing structures (network facilitators, materials, contacts, information) and implementation of relevant content in Saxony-Anhalt

Coordination and collaboration with relevant stakeholders at the local level

  • Expansion and implementation of a permanent structure for newcomers, establishing contact with local family services (e.g., youth welfare offices, school authorities, regional family alliances, housing providers) as well as with mayors and district administrators. Key priorities here are:
  • Identifying contact persons for all relevant needs of newcomers (social contacts, leisure, employment, housing, volunteer work) and forwarding these contacts to internal points of contact and vice versa, with the aim of consolidating information
  • Incorporating regional stakeholders on the WCST website
  • Incorporating the state initiative “Fachkraft im Fokus” into the municipalities’ websites alongside the WelcomeCenter’s offerings
  • Forwarding information about relevant new developments/changes from the municipalities to the WCST
  • Participation in “Return Days” to attract skilled workers who have left the region and their families
  • Deepening cooperation with the state’s universities, particularly student advising offices and career services

Analysis and initiation of measures

  • Problem-oriented network development within the framework of pilot counseling (e.g., by involving partners and decision-makers)
  • Leading activities and supporting companies in recruiting skilled workers and fostering family-friendly environments, incorporating insights and results from the specialized units
  • Raising awareness and providing guidance to internal structures (HR and training advisors)

Professionalizing support services for companies on family-friendly policies in the context of employer attractiveness

Requirements

  • Working independently to shape topics and processes
  • Ensuring that the project’s target groups—including company management—are addressed in a manner appropriate to the assignment, and developing solution strategies and concepts tailored to their needs
  • Organizing a pilot process with expert involvement

Applicants must hold a university degree (Master’s/Diploma) or have otherwise demonstrated qualifications and experience equivalent to a university degree.

  • Several years of professional experience (otherwise, expertise must be demonstrated in another way),
  • Strong communication, networking, and problem-solving skills,
  • Strong knowledge and skills in using modern communication technology,
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English, as well as
  • strong social and professional intercultural skills
