Attracting and Retaining Foreign Skilled Workers in 2025

© Landesinitiative Fachkraft im Fokus

How can local small and medium-sized businesses attract people with an immigrant background—whether from the local area or abroad—for apprenticeships or employment? How can these individuals be retained and further supported? What support services are available in the Wittenberg district and the surrounding region?

Our population—and thus our workforce—is becoming increasingly diverse and international. Given the growing shortage of skilled workers and demographic change, we must actively seize this opportunity.

The Welcome Culture and Skilled Workforce Recruitment Network, the Wittenberg district, and the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt invite you to the event “Finding and Retaining Foreign Skilled Workers”:

November 12, 2025, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

at Piesteritzer Hof, Karl-Liebknecht-Platz 18-19, 06886 Lutherstadt Wittenberg

Take this opportunity to connect with experts and other businesses. Receive practical information on support and funding opportunities for recruiting, training, and integrating foreign skilled workers.

We will provide information on the current skilled worker situation in the Wittenberg district as well as practical support services tailored to your needs. Experts from the region and company representatives will be available for one-on-one discussions and will share insights on how to successfully integrate foreign skilled workers.

You can view the program here.

Participation is free of charge. Registration is open via this linkuntil November 7, 2025.

We look forward to seeing you!
