Residence Act (AufenthG)
The Residence Act is the cornerstone of immigration law and governs, among other things, entry, residence, and employment for individuals who are not German citizens. The Act also sets out government objectives and measures for the integration of immigrants. The Residence Act does not apply to persons from other EU countries or to diplomats.
