On 26 October 2023, the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt was invited to hold a workshop on the topic of "qualified specialists from abroad" at the Germany-wide meeting of the Limbach Group's HR officers in Dessau-Roßlau. The following questions were discussed: How do qualified specialists find their way to Germany? What needs to be done to ensure successful integration? What experiences have those present had to date with recruiting qualified specialists from abroad? Particularly relevant topics were the social integration of new arrivals into the local workforce, the different ways of dealing with the authorities and how to deal with private recruitment services.
It became clear that some locations are already very active in recruiting qualified specialists from abroad, while others were given incentives and support from the event to follow the same path.
