Our workplace is becoming more diverse: In companies and government agencies, people from different cultural, ethnic, religious, and social backgrounds work together—each with their own life experiences, perspectives, and talents. Diversity is thus not just a concept, but a lived reality. When managed effectively, it can become a real asset: for collaboration, innovation, and employer appeal.

At the“Digital Tuesday” event hosted by the Saxony-Anhalt East Employment Agency, we’d like to explore together how to create a work environment where all employees can reach their full potential—and where inclusion and appreciation are truly put into practice every day.

Practical insights—with a focus on actionable steps

A special highlight will be the presentation by our colleague Kerstin Mogdans (State Initiative “Fachkraft im Fokus” & Coordinator of the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt) on the topic: “Recognizing and Capitalizing on
Diversity in Companies as an Opportunity.”

Kerstin Mogdans offers practical, real-world insights into what is essential for positive and constructive collaboration in diverse teams—while valuing individual characteristics such as age, background, family structure, gender, and personal traits. It becomes clear that diversity is not just a “moral” issue, but can also be a strategic advantage—and contribute to long-term competitiveness.

The discussion will address questions such as the following (in a concise, practical manner and with examples):

  • What does diversity in the workplace realistically look like—and what opportunities does it create?
  • What challenges arise within teams and, in particular, in leadership?
  • How can a welcoming culture be strategically developed and embedded in everyday work—and what support services are available?

Additional Speakers

  • Ksenia Kalchenko and Luise Borchert – Regional Integration Networks for a Culture of Welcome and Recognition of International Workers (RINWA, IQ Network Saxony-Anhalt)
  • Heike Wunschik – Equal Opportunity Officer for the Labor Market (BCA), Saxony-Anhalt East Employment Agency

Who is this event intended for?

The event is aimed in particular at companies and organizations that want to actively foster diversity—whether you’re just getting started or have already implemented initial measures.

Do you have any questions—or are you interested in support beyond the event?

We’re also happy to provide information and guidance independently of the event—for example, on creating a welcoming culture, recruiting skilled workers, integrating international workers, and promoting decent work. We’re just a phone call away.
